Ten military Veterans, many who protected the United States in war, are producing a documentary film titled, School of Maybe. They are seeking support from sponsors, Veterans and consumers, ages 18 to 88, who are consistently challenged with moments of maybe in their professional and personal lives.
School of Maybe could be titled, “Imagine The Possibilities,” as it delves into a question that people around the world are challenged with each day, “What’s Your Maybe?” The documentary film features U.S. Army and Air Force veterans who were classmates in 1984-1985 at the United States Military Academy Prep School (West Point Prep) at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. When Fort Monmouth shut down in 2011, the Army moved the prep school to West Point, New York. More than a decade later the barracks, mess hall and athletic fields remain, but soon it will face a wrecking ball as Netflix has purchased the land and plans to build one of the world's largest film production studios.
School of Maybe is an empowering message for people of all ages inspiring them to gain strength through the uncertainty of "maybe" moments and periods they are challenged with. The film is focused less on a specific age demographic and more on attitudes and aspirations. Among the audiences that the film’s message applies to are the following:
Current Gen Z university students who are members of ROTC and similar programs on college campuses nationwide where they face uncertainty and maybe each and every day
Current active-duty military and their families with a focus on those who will be transitioning the uncertainty of moving from military to civilian life
Veterans who are navigating uncertainty each day in their personal and professional lives as civilians
Among those featured in the film is Colonel Greg Gadson and Iraq War hero who lost his legs on May 7, 2007 to a roadside bomb. Colonel Gadson has taken his mental and physical strength that made him a star of the legendary Army football team and is now a motivational speaker who has also starred in feature films and television series. Other cast cameos will include cross generational veterans, and current members of the military and their families. The School of Maybe will deliver a strong message to all USAA customers to “embrace the maybe" in their lives.
